Personnel Files

Every business with one or more employees is required to keep personnel files. There are certain documents  that are required by law to be kept, that are smart to keep, and that should never be kept. If you don’t know what these are, we can help.

If you already have personnel files, we can conduct an audit to determine what should and should not be in there and what we would need to do to be compliant.  If you need help setting up personnel files, we can help you create them.  Once they are ready, we can maintain them and keep them current and legal or train you and your people how to manage the files.

Unemployment Claims

Problem employees who elect not to remain employed, either by quitting or being fired for cause, should not receive unemployment compensation. We can make sure that if there is cause to fire an employee, it is done in an open and fair manner that will minimize the chance that your business will be liable for unemployment compensation. More importantly, we will make sure you and your leadership understand how to do this and the “why” for each step in the process.

In the event of a fact-finding hearing, we can help prepare and file the protest, and represent you at the hearing. If an adverse decision is received in response to the fact-finding hearing, we can also file and represent you at an appeal hearing. There is no reason you should have to pay for employee that quit or are fired with cause. Money that is not paid for unemployment compensation is called “profit”.
